Well I finally got out on the road this weekend for a couple of rides. Saturday’s was more of a tune up as opposed to a hard core training ride, that was for Sunday. Road conditions in the city are absolutely terrible. I just can’t get over the size of and number of the potholes this year. It’s been bad enough driving, but on a road bike……
Sunday’s ride was nicer although the wind had a bit of chill in it. This was my first ride out with EMCC and it was good. I went out with the “fast” group and covered about 100 KM in total by the time I got back home. I was very impressed with disaplin of the riders and the route we took. Overall the road conditions were good, few potholes and lots of nice rolling hills. The pace was kept at tempo with no stops other than for stop signs. This ride is a keeper and I’m looking forward to making a regular part of my training.
Here’s a map of the route we rode.
Cheers!
More Cycling Doping Disappointment April 4, 2007

The cat is out of the bag now. Ullrich’s DNA samples have been linked to blood siezed during Operacion Puerot as reported in VeloNews:
DNA test links Ullrich to Fuentes blood bags
What gets me is he initially refused to provide a DNA sample. In light of yesterdays news one can see why he refused at first. I would think that if a person truly had nothing to hide they would have given the sample straight off to clear one’s name. So now professional cycling has to content with more scandle from a former great of the sport. When is the sport going to get some good news for a change.
Cheers!
